WELL, HI THERE!

I'm Gianna— Hello! I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and have been in Portland since 2015.

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) & Board Approved Supervisor, as well as an Adjunct Professor at Lewis & Clark College’s graduate school, Portland State University, and the University of Portland. I’ve presented at state and national conferences on counseling ethics, fat & body liberation, sexuality, family therapy, and more. I’ve been told my teaching vibe gives Miss Frizzle (shoutout to Millennial nostalgia!)

I am a Past President of the Oregon Counseling Association, the Oregon Association for Counselor Education & Supervision, and COPACT (the mental health advocacy & lobbying group), as well as a Past Chair of the American Counseling Association’s Western Region. Advocacy work is a passion and it should be accessible to all of us!

I work from a Family Systems Theory foundation, utilizing Bowen & Narrative theories, as we explore your family patterns that have been passed down generationally, looking into the stories of your family, and creating new ones for you & your future as well. We’ll also utilize aspects from EFT and IFS, as Parts work can be impactful and enlightening to so many folks. We’ll do this while approaching topics from a feminist lens, challenging the systems we’re all a part of.

And because Self Care is Healthcare, and should be valued and modeled— I love reading, watercoloring, embroidery, traveling, trying new places to eat, spending time at the Oregon coast, watching favorite shows, attending Thorns women’s soccer games, and spending time with loved ones.

Self care travel, near…

… And far. (Bonjour!)
